2019 Annual Meeting & Awards Banquet

Join us for an Evening of Networking
and Celebration
Planned to coincide with the Annual Brain Injury Conference, the Annual Meeting & Awards Banquet is a great opportunity for industry professionals, survivors, caregivers and their families to come together to reflect on the previous year in brain injury, learn more about BIA-MA, and to celebrate Brain Injury Awareness Month and our award winners.

When: Wednesday, March 27, 2019, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Keynote Speaker: Ann Pike-Paris, MS, BSN, RN earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at George Mason University in Virginia, and her Master’s in Nursing from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. After daughter Abigail was diagnosed with severe post-concussive syndrome in 2015, Ann became an advocate for brain injury and now hosts three BIA-MA support groups.

Ann and husband Richard have been married for forty-eight years and have two adult children. They share a passion for furthering adaptive sports and home design, sailing, vintage cars, and their Cardigan Welsh Corgi.

Ann speaks from the heart about their journey through Abigail’s injuries as both a caregiver and healthcare professional.

Do you know someone that should be recognized for work done on behalf of the brain injury community? We invite you to help BIA-MA in honoring these outstanding individuals by nominating for the following awards. The awards to be reviewed by committee – all nominations are welcome!

  • Community Partner – providers, businesses or professionals who have volunteered their time and expertise in the field of brain injury.
  • Survivor/Family – any survivor, family member or support group leader who has reached out into the community to create a better quality of life for others affected by brain injury.
  • Advocacy – this award honors individuals, survivors, legislators, state employees, or professionals for outstanding contributions to the brain injury field through BIA-MA public policy initiatives.
