Where can I go for help?
Veterans Event with Lee Woodruff:
BIA-MA and the Newton Free Library are collaborating to sponsor a program on veterans and TBI on Monday, Nov. 3, at 6:30 p.m., with special guest Lee Woodruff. Lee will speak and sign copies of “In An Instant,” the book that she and her husband, ABC news reporter Bob Woodruff, co-authored after he suffered a brain injury
while covering a story in Iraq.
The program will feature brain injury survivors
and veterans who have been involved in BIA-MA programs.
Veterans With Head Injuries:
BIA-MA is working with the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission's Statewide Head Injury Program (SHIP)
on a federal grant to reach out to veterans, returning from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars with brain injuries.
The Brain Injury Association, a private nonprofit organization, can provide information and resources to
veterans and family members. Our list of community services ranges from outpatient rehabilitation and neuropsychologists to alternative therapies, recreational programs, and support groups.
