Speakers Bureau Opportunities!

programsThe BIA-MA Speakers Bureau is a group of individuals that participate in outreach efforts to educate others about brain injury. The members of the Speakers Bureau includes survivors, family members, caretakers - anyone affected by brain injury in some way. They speak at a number of venues including Think A-Head, Brain At Risk, wellness fairs, or civic groups.

Within the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts (BIA-MA), there are several opportunities to become involved! Get involved in the prevention efforts as a survivor and share your survivor story. Not a survivor? We also encourage anyone who has been affected by brain injury or anyone who feels particularly passionate about brain injury prevention to participate in the many outreach opportunities the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts provides.

Individuals effected by brain injury and their stories are an integral and invaluable contributors to the prevention programs which provide individuals with the opportunity to share their story of how their brain injury may have changed the way they live their lives.

Individuals from the Speakers Bureau speak at:

Brains At Risk is an court-referral education program that links the choices made behind the wheel to the devastating effects of traumatic brain injury (TBI). The mission of Brains At Risk is to promote responsible driving and raise awareness of TBI in order to prevent fatalities and serious injury on Massachusetts roads.

Think A-Head is a school-based education program designed to promote brain injury awareness and prevention among students. Think A-Head teaches students to avoid risk-taking behavior and develop healthy living habits.

The Ambassador Program is an education and prevention program targeted at various civic groups and clubs. In this program, individuals with or affected by brain injury present an overview of brain injury as well as their own story.

And may more opportunities...
