The Jose and Maria Program
Jose & Maria is a free bilingual safety education program for preschool children in the Springfield area.  Created by the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts, the Jose & Maria Program instills lifelong healthy habits as related to bike, care seat, and pedestrian safety by following Maria on her “Aventura” to visit her friend, Jose.  The 20 minute story telling lesson incorporates colorful visuals and interactive components.

The Jose & Maria program reinforces the adoption of healthy habits and the accessible playful characters of Jose & Maria through a parent education component, which includes information on proper car seat, seatbelt and helmet use, best practice methods for communicating safety to young children, and ideas on how to reinforce healthy habits within the family environment.

While the Jose & Maria Program is free of charge, donations are greatly appreciated and help raise awareness about brain injury.  Your donation provides crucial support and enables Jose & Maria to reach more children throughout the Springfield area.
  • All donations can be made out to: BIA-MA Jose & Maria Program, and sent to the BIA-MA office, Att. Manager of Prevention.
  • Donate securely via PayPal
